Team Archer enters Aurora10k for ocktober
Hi every one
After a long debate with my brother we decided to enter the Aurora rocket for the 10k project
here is some (not yet finalized specs)
diameter=105mm
lenght =5.930m
config =two stage
1st stage
uses one of the ASR M class motors (M2000) which is a short 3 second burn
uses two aim altimeters for redundant deployment
(also my rocket for my level3 certification)
2nd stage (sustainer)
Uses an ASR N class motor (N-3000) with a nice 6 second burn (19300Ns total impulse)
Uses one aim v1.2 in conjunction with (I hope) one aim X-tra to make recovery of the sustainer easier
PROGRESS
The 1st stage is finished and only needs paint the 2nd stage is still being planned
I hope that we can pull this off before ocktober to fly it with the ASR rocket (ARROW10)
I will post some pictures soon of the finished 1st stage and the fins i've made for the sustainer
I would just like to thank Johann for all is excellent support
We all strive for perfection...but we fly for fun

Re: Team Archer enters Aurora10k for ocktober
Hi every one
Here is the pictures i said ill post
You can see the fins are hollow in the center for one reason
Weight the center wil be filled with a balsa wood core an covered with 2 layers of fiber glass
and note the lenght of the booster stage so this is going to be a very tall thin rocket haha
ill post more pictures as the build progresses
happy building my fellow rocketeers
We all strive for perfection...but we fly for fun
