Suiteble motors for 50 mm Rockets
Liftoff.....
I am still a elastic band rocketeer, so do not laugh...... I am currently building a rocket using a 50mm (inside measurement) rocket with 3 fins. I want to find out what motor I can use for the best peformance, what the dimensions are for that motor and what length op tube is best. OR must I stay with the elastic band :-)
Cheers you space monkeys... :-)

Re: Suiteble motors for 50 mm Rockets
Well you can use a 38mm H-class 6grain motor, although I think it might have a bit to much power but it should work. I think a minimum length of 1m is required. You can also use simulation programs to determine your length, weight, balance etc...
Come to think of it, Johann had motors that was smaller than the H but they are not re-usable.

Re: Suiteble motors for 50 mm Rockets
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I can provide you with a G-class motor with a diameter of 38mm. You'll need centering rings to centre the motor in the body tube. Those can be laser-cut easily and shipped with your motor. The motor will cost R450 and is fully re-loadable.
